We are a family-owned cottage bakery in the heart of Douglas County, Nevada. Our delicious breads are made fresh each day using only the finest organic ingredients, including the finest Organic Flour from Central Milling.
Organic Wheat Flour (wheat & barley)
This starter is a mix of three of our historic starters that I have acquired over the years, and it indeed became our Gardnerville Born starter.
It is a mix of a true San Francisco starter that was 239 years old, blended with two other starters. One other was from the California foothills in the small town of Arnold, and the other was a 140-year-old starter from Montana. This has become our everyday tried and true Gardnerville-born starter in Northern Nevada.
Our organic sourdough is always fermented for at least 24 hours.


Just like a new sourdough recipe, my story has its fair share of sticky dough, trial and error, and plenty of proofing, shaping, and baking! I’m the owner and recipe developer of our licensed cottage micro bakery, where every loaf is made by hand with heart and purpose.
We specialize in real organic sourdough bread — just flour, water, and salt — crafted the old-fashioned way but with a modern twist. Using organic ingredients and creative flavors, we’ve transformed the classic loaf into something you’ll crave again and again.
The food and beverage world has always been my passion — a journey spanning more than 30 years. I love cooking and baking, and most of my recipes are born from intuition and inspiration. My superpower? I can taste ideas in my mind before they ever hit the oven.
In addition to baking, I’m a Holistic Health Practitioner and Master Herbalist, blending the art of nourishment with the science of wellness.

Richard is my rock — and our resident "LOAFER". After a long and successful career in Sales, he’s now retired and has discovered a new passion for baking (lucky for me!). So, it only makes sense that he’s in charge of mixing, baking, and handling all the heavy lifting here at our micro bakery.
Beyond the bakery, Richard is a devoted husband, proud father, and joyful grandfather. If you’ve met him, you already know he loves to chat! He’s the friendly face and voice of our markets, events, and front-door pick-ups. So when you spot him at one of our pop-ups (and you surely will), be sure to say hello — and maybe even join him in a playful round of “King of the Loaves” as you grab your favorite baked treats.
