We are a family-owned cottage bakery in the heart of Douglas County, Nevada. Our delicious breads are made fresh each day using only the finest organic ingredients, including the finest Organic Flour from Central Milling.

Organic Wheat Flour (wheat & barley)
This starter is a mix of three of our historic starters that I have acquired over the years, and it indeed became our Gardnerville Born starter.
It is a mix of a true San Francisco starter that was 239 years old, blended with two other starters. One other was from the California foothills in the small town of Arnold, and the other was a 140-year-old starter from Montana. This has become our everyday tried and true Gardnerville-born starter in Northern Nevada.
Our organic sourdough is always fermented for at least 24 hours.
Just like a new sourdough recipe, my story involves sticky dough, endless trial and error, and a good amount of benching, proofing, scraping, shaping, and baking!
I am the owner and recipe builder in our home-based licensed cottage micro bakery. We specialize in real ORGANIC sourdough bread, made with flour, water, and salt.
With organic ingredients and modernized flavors, we
have recreated the basic loaf and turned it into your next craving.
The food and beverage industry has always been my passion, and I have been in it for well over 30 years. I have worked in restaurants and casinos in front-of-the-house operations and on the tech side in point-of-sale programming.
I love cooking and baking everything yummy, and most of my recipes come from within. I am also a Holistic Health practitioner and master herbalist.
My super power is tasting things in my head.
Richard is my rock. He is also our baker, shaker, and folder. Richard is now semi-retired from a lifelong career in Sales and has found a love for baking as I have, so why not put him in charge of mixing, baking, and lifting all things heavy here at the micro bakery?
He is also a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
If you have had the pleasure of meeting Richard, you know he is a talker! Richard is the talking head of our markets and events, as well as at front-door bakery pick-ups. If you see him at one of our events (which you surely will), stop by and sing "King of the loaves" with him while picking up one or more of your favorite baked goodies.
